While I really appreciate the shoutout, I still get a huge amount from Yarvin’s writing. He, along with Jim, scores almost the highest for the metric of “when I read their work, I find something new and interesting to think about, which I can’t find elsewhere.”

Even when I don’t ultimately agree with their final answer, there’s usually some interesting kernel of truth that I hadn’t thought about before. This makes them very compelling as authors, relative to people who I agree with, but who say things closer to what I’ve already read.

Moldbug's writings were so good and so general that it gave me a new interpretive framework. New Yarvin is constrained by circumstance and by intended audience. In 2000 MM's audience had never heard his message. By 2020 Y's audience had to have made an effort to ignore 2000 MM
