What's the best argument against a #LandValueTax?
I looked into it and it seems like a Land Value Tax would be better than income tax.
For people in the
UK
this is like having 0 income tax but much higher council tax. There would be more jobs and the economy would grow.

What is dumb about VAT exactly? Land taxes are tough b/c they have no necessary connection to a stream of income that allows payment and b/c assessing the value of the tax becomes a massive political battle in itself

Land always has an implicit stream of income. Farm farmland, build housing on suburban land, put up offices in central business districts. The complexity comes in when people set up lives tied to particular land - the game theory breaks down b/c of switching costs
