What's the best argument against a #LandValueTax?
I looked into it and it seems like a Land Value Tax would be better than income tax.
For people in the
UK
this is like having 0 income tax but much higher council tax. There would be more jobs and the economy would grow.

What is the best counterargument, in your opinion/?

The information needed to actually honestly discover the unimproved value of land is hard to tease out and can be manipulated. Then you get into all kinds of principal / agent problems in the tax authority. Tax on *improved* value is bad b/c it discourages improvements.

It will be applied to all land and ruin the house-with-garden-2-kids-1-dog-dream for all eternity.

True enough, it doesn't solve the core problem - it's a tool that a government does not hate you can use to do good. That same tool used by a government that does hate you like this one will be used destructively.
