That hidden information means he can act in ways she would find repulsive in reality (such as not sexually escalating) because she doesn't fill in the blank with "wow, he's a real pussy" - she gets access to info that demolishes that assumption.

This is true—the literally definition of a romance novel is a "happily ever after," where they wind up man and wife All romance novels are a "Heroine's Journey": she tests the man, remaining as passive as possible, for 200 pages until he proves himself Worthy of knocking her up

Yep. Romance novel authors can directly and unambiguously describe a man's traits just by writing them on the page. In this world every internal trait is inferred by signalling. Sometimes the signalling conflicts with what she ideally prefers but the signaling has to win.

Keep in mind women are constantly working around imperfect information when dealing with men A man doing things that signal that he's in demand by other women is directly attractive & having a confident attitude that assumes that sex is going to happen is one of those things

That would be great advice if we were trying to get him laid—But the point is for HIM to fall in love with HER. Think of what kind of person tends to be most patriotic—someone who has sacrificed something for country. People care more about things that they have to invest in.

It is a fine question even by these moralistic standards. The point of the OP is for her to be loved by a specific person—not to find hookup or casual dating. Love *is* self-centered but experientially selfless.

Seems normal and natural to me - she knows this man and she wants him - can't get more basic and human than that.
