We can't do contact tracing because we have anarcho-tyranny that can't stop scam phone calls We can't control borders because then Trump might control borders in a bad way We can't forcibly isolate the sick because that would have disparate impact Etc.

There's no possible collective action because liberalism is utterly and totally failed and fighting the pandemic is a collective action problem. Individuals just have to choose their own appetite for risk.

There is delay the inevitable or accept the inevitable. Initial official reaction - "everyone will get it" - was correct, then the experts were given control and we've been fucked ever since.

The initial official reaction was as wrong as possible - "xenophobia is worse than any disease" and "no tests except CDC's non-working ones". Close off travel from China, test and quarantine travelers and you go from 10 to 0. Nothing the "experts" have proposed since can work
