Humans run on corrupted hardware: mental health. Trauma, depression, akrasia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akrasia ), suicide, addiction to junk food, and many common mental health "illnesses" are most likely not illnesses. They are 𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 that get activated.

Doesn't this presuppose that those phenomena are reactions of a healthy brain? What if, at least in part, environmental toxins, parasites, or virus strains, etc., were responsible for such behaviors? Just like a broken bone or a ruptured lung.

Marijuana & anti-depressants are quite widespread & arguably most violent criminals (e.g. terrorists or school shooters) have used them before turning into monsters. (Although one can’t say if marijuana itself is dangerous or added pollutants or traces or insecticide etc.)

School shooters get a massive bump in attractiveness to fertile aged women. It's adaptive behavior in some contexts.
