With the recent controversy about the #Election2020, it occurred to me that cheating in a real election and creating bot accounts online are really the same thing: they touch on the so called "proof of human" problem.
This is a big deal in the #crypto world too.

That's already the case though - the problem is that some *particular* clients in the u.s. don't show up to vote / engage in gratitude towards patrons, hence ballot harvesting has been a form of implied gratitude.
-
Harder to do w/ ppl only - in Central America they just go to favelas and pay ppl to vote, and even these countries have national IDs required to vote lol Problem is in U.S. our 'favelas' have it good enough that most payments don't motivate, so patrons harvest 'assumed votes'

Yes, political clients around oligarchs form always, especially when there is less middle class. Middle class have the luxury of political opinions. Yet technosocial configuration appears to be disfavouring it in this Kondratiev wave phase. We'll see more of the client system

That's something different though. Right now we have a system where all the clients are united and all the people paying for it are on the other side. A system with rival clients is a huge change when there's no productive middle class to drain is very different.
