Funny thing is that this statement is 100% right. Educated people are unable to follow a chain of reasoning or draw conclusions from evidence and can only defer to skin-suited institutions. Obama though probably goes on to imply that the problem is not enough skin-suit deferralhttps://twitter.com/JeffreyGoldberg/status/1328086363594510341 …

The crisis of epistemology is that they thought the rule was "believe institutions" so they took over institutions and used them to say what they wanted but people only believed the institutions because they earned their credibility. The "crisis" is that they had the rule wrong.

Basically the same thing happened with colleges. They thought the rule was "college graduates are better qualified." But it was actually "better qualified people graduate college." And so they destroyed the value of a college degree in their quest to give it to everyone.

"Everyone believes that a PhD signals brilliance because guys with PhDs in physics and engineering built nuclear bombs and rockets therefore give PhDs to bioleninist pets and everyone will believe they're brilliant, too" Actual outcome? "'Dr' in handle means stupid takes"
