looks like Germany is seeing a big explosion in new cases, reaching a new all-time daily high recently. this is disorienting because i was explained that Germany 'Did It Right', based on good German discipline. it's almost as if people just spout BS informed by stereotypes

even this assumes that the virus doesn't inevitably sneak back in to seed NZ one way or another and create uncontrollable outbreaks after all, in an almost fully-susceptible and no-antibody population. we'll see, i give it 50/50

It's very easy to keep the disease out of NZ once there are no cases. Quarantine inbound travelers for the incubation period, test before releasing them into the general population.
