The central or most proximate problem of our time is the inability to identify, shape, and elevate deserving-as-in-truly excellent elites or leaders. Our standards and credentialing system are all broken. We are left with ignorant and cowardly leaders.

Very true, but via people. It would be a dead letter and then ultimately changed with the right personnel. And this is how they were corrupted in the first place.

Correct. And turbulence will accelerate daily at this point. But my point is that one can change things more quickly if—likely per impossibile in our case—excellent people with authority are put in charge of any given institution.
