I'm pondering a longer thread about it but something missing from Yarvin's model that actually undermines it significantly and has important implications for solutions - where does Eric Clanton fit on the diagram? The Dream isn't nearly as powerful as it looks.

ZHP Lovecraft's diagram is a good visual summary https://twitter.com/0x49fa98/status/1305584588014735360 … https://graymirror.substack.com/p/3-descriptive-constitution-of-the …

ZERO HP Lovecraft 🐬 @0x49fa98I made this based on Moldbug's latest. The political narrative you buy into comes down to what part of this diagram you get fixated on. Without the whole picture, you are lost. Left-normies think the power is in the factory. Right-normies think it's in the bureau. Both are wrong pic.twitter.com/TgowziRwHBShow this thread1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

Each organization on the left side has its footsoldiers, which are abstracted out of view of this diagram. From the top down: students, bureaucrats, union workers, militarized simps.

They're not just abstracted out - they contradict the model. It's not just prestige that goes down from the Brain to the Voice to the Conversation - it's also violence. If it was just prestige then it's unbreakable but if you model violence as part of the model it changes things

How does explicitly including violence as part of the model contradict it or change things?

If the Cathedral relies on violence to influence the Conversation and the output of the Brain then there's a way to influence it from the outside that Yarvin overlooked because he alleges that it's perfectly spontaneously coordinated and sealed from outside influence.

The Cathedral doesn't rely on violence, but it does produce justifications for it. Violence is a carrot for Collaborators and a stick for Dissidents. The Voice does not speak of violence by Collaborators, only that of Dissidents.

The Brain uses violence on the Brain; ex E.O. Wilson Academics are cowards and reorder their thinking very quickly when threatened and then forget the act of changing their minds Eric Clanton only uses violence once in a long while against Dissidents yet is employed continually

Very true. I'm still not sure why you say that violence invalidates the model though.

The reason why cracking the System is such a hard prospect is because there's no input into the Cathedral - but there is an input and one that's not even that hard to replicate and amplify to drown out the signal that the Cathedral is attuned to.
