A truly robust "system" is composed of multiple robust subsystems. If any one of these subsystems fails it can trigger a chain reaction that topples the "system" as a whole. Patriarchy is a subsystem which, like any subsystem, relies on the others to function and survive.

To clarify a little bit, if the religion subsystem fails pretty much everything else is doomed. Christianity "worked", but it could not defend itself against progressivism, perhaps due to the failure of the military subsystem. Interlocking subsystems m8
