There's a small but vocal minority on the right which claims either:
1. Liberalism is wokeness, or a type of wokeness.
or
2. Liberalism decays into wokeness and wokeness is an inevitable result of liberalism.
Both claims are wrong and I'll explain why.

1. Liberalism does not imply a single form of organization. Different liberal societies different democratic setups. 2. Liberal societies need not be permissive as liberal societies can have more or less permisive rules. 3. Universal human nature does not imply equal outcomes

Different "democratic" setups - there's your problem right there; those only work for a tiny subset of human groups and even then work far far worse than the systems they replace. 1/2

As far as permissiveness? Different groups thrive under different levels and liberalism has no way of dealing with this knowledge b/c its core premise is about its own universality. 2/2
