One result of the 2016 election that no one really discusses is how Hillary broke the Schelling point of quickly conceding to your opponent. Why is this important? I suspect we're about to find out but it fundamentally changes the dynamics around elections.

When you cheat via vote counting you want to do so minimally so as to retain some kind of legitimacy. Candidate proxies can delay reporting results if the race is close but since they don't know all the other results they don't know if they're holding back enough EC votes

One state will hold back results if it looks decisive but if it takes 5 states holding back to be decisive you can't know. The early concession stops the coordination needed. Now that the early concession agreement is gone, why not have multiple states hold off?
