Yeah, I also have this feeling. We know how well calling out logical inconsistencies works with religious people because we have experience with the serious Christians.

But what he's saying may be what people need to hear so I didn't object

It's what people want to hear - what they need to hear is that none of his suggestions will work.

You can't beat Woke without addressing the underlying signalling incentives. No logical argument will work.

Wokeness allows people to signal all sorts of useful things like personal morality, intelligence, cosmopolitanism, conformity, etc. People need to do signalling like beavers need to build dams.

If beavers were destroying your expensive rare fruit trees to build dams with, would you try to logically persuade the beavers to stop building dams? No, you'd provide them with alternative trees to use for their instinctive dam-building activity.

Women want to signal LT mate value; men want to signal their value as a team member. Co-opting this instinct into being about things you say that signal that you hold the "correct" beliefs is destructive. Healthy male signalling is mountain climbing or amateur science.

Cheap signals that are just words indicating high status beliefs are easily fakeable, socially destructive, worthless as a signal and due to being cheap subject to destructive escalation. They also create pressure to disdain health signals that are much more primally appealing.

I'm sorry, but people *want* these cheap signals to exist. They only have to be just expensive enough to perform their signalling job. You cannot have humans without signalling. They almost certainly had it in Rome, Greece, they definitely had it in Christian Europe, etc.

Of course they *want* cheap signals. The key to a healthy culture is to have everyone disdain cheap signals. A bunch of surviving phrases exist that embody the cultural legacy of this attitude. Big problem is that ethnic diversity makes it hard to avoid eroding that attitude.

Take a high verbal IQ ethnicity that also is high on neuroticism and weak on physical courage and if permitted they'll crank out propaganda meant to overwhelm the attitudes that keep cheap verbal signals from flooding the market.
