      7. @jprwg Churchill was a racist, many Founding Fathers of the USA owned slaves, etc. Our civic religions surrounding these figures are based on a bunch of lies. This is a potential infohazard because lacking such unifying myths, our nations could lose their cohesion.

      8. @turchin We should stop spending our time coming up with prosocial ideas (UV light idea https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/L8KGSDchPpNo48PCM/ubiquitous-far-ultraviolet-light-could-control-the-spread-of …, etc) because nobody will ever listen to us. Maximize time coming up with evil shit because that gets the attention. Proof: right here.

      9. @JimDMiller Virtue signalling is real, and that implies that a lack of virtue signalling from a person means they are probably less kind, less loyal, less friendly etc than average. Even if the virtue signalling is socially harmful and false, you should still update on it.

      10. @MugaSofer John Snow stabs Daenerys Targaryen to death in the last episode of Game of Thrones, all the important characters die or go elsewhere and a bunch of nobodies who you don't care about end up with all the titles and stuff. It's super cringe.

      11. @Mlxebz Any system to get people to cooperate and play positive sum games is just another opportunity to play negative sum games by manipulating the system itself.

      12. @imhinesmi Many of your ancestors were rapists, murderers, women who cuckolded their husbands, men who cheated etc. Think clearly about the process that created you and the incentives hidden within you.

When looked for it turns out that cuckholdry is actually very rare in the Eurasian species of human

For present day about 1.5% at the high end. Last names vs genes which covers a few hundred years of history - 0.73% for Afrikaners, 1.6% for Irish, 1.3% for Englishhttps://westhunt.wordpress.com/2013/01/27/by-blows-paternal-age-and-all-that/ …

Yeah, well 1%× thousands of generations = certainty

To clarify after a discussion with GC; the latter numbers in the post are the implied per generation rates - which contemporary numbers are in line with. For 700 years there's about a 50% chance of surname / genetic mismatch which is hardly certainty (but isn't nothing)
