There's 3-4 million police encounters per year, so the odds of an unarmed person being killed per encounter are roughly 1 : 100,000 If you're not resisting arrest etc, it becomes infinitesimal. Cities are being burned to the ground over sub-"killed by lightning" levels of danger https://twitter.com/ZaidJilani/status/1276319583675260934 …

By the way, since the rationalists are in the news, how much time have rationalists spent discussing this? Have they come out against 2020 BLM as fraud? The stats aren't that hard to break down, if you spend just a few minutes with them. Seems like a wonderful bias to overcome

Someone should ask Eliezer to use his rationalist superpowers to analyze it.

Got this far; the guy is a complete dope; not stupid just mindkilled and desperate to validate a stupid frame possibly out of ignorance more likely out of callous disregard for reality when it bumps up against his (blue) tribe's taboospic.twitter.com/moqvc1RifC

The more-details page (https://medium.com/@yudkowsky/further-arguments-and-details-a-comprehensive-reboot-of-law-enforcement-84c5bbf3912c …) might seem less bad to you? Here's an independent derivation of what you would call "anarcho-tyranny"pic.twitter.com/2i2575alpu

It's a joke; "your relationship to government" and "the public order". Doing some reading or actual observation about the people being discussed - he's "typical minding" them to an insane degree. Everything swallowed up by refusal to engage with the real implications of HBD

The people don't need to be consciously thinking in pompous terms of "the public order" in order for the model to more-or-less fit; quantitative group trait diffs can be small enough to not affect the basic logic of civilization and universal human naturehttps://www.lesswrong.com/posts/Cyj6wQLW6SeF6aGLy/the-psychological-unity-of-humankind …

"Universal human nature" is a joke because humans aren't a single species. These are people whose ancestors didn't live in cities and don't have a conception of the basic logic of civilization - no ancestral history in civitas

The mismatch shows up all the time. Example from a work where you should really read the whole thing The work is Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers by Tom Wolfe and it's very insightful with *actual* observations of the people involved.pic.twitter.com/zZVao0mzPn
