The traditional Church understands what a threat BLM is; "satanic organisation" is not literally true, but it's a good intuition pump; think of Satan as an egregore that represents everything anti-order & anti-civilization. https://twitter.com/rooshv/status/1275966960522706945 …

Egregores are real things even if not tangible. Is Starbucks real? You've never seen *the* Starbucks, only stores or employees or the logo.

Serious question: What is the difference between the "Satan" egregore of the Abrahamic religions, and the "Moloch" we talk about?

In my head they are similar, but Moloch is more "pure", he is the D-D square in a prisoner's dilemma, whereas Satan is an impure idea, that's more informed by the specifics of the human condition.

Going to take thought to articulate it clearly but here's my rough guess: Moloch is impersonal, an accretion of bad adaptations and trapped local maxima Satan is the personal spite in people's hearts motivated by envy - destruction for spite's sake

Is Satan really only to do with envy? Seems wrong to me. Chrurchy people use "Satan" to label all sorts of things - homosexuality, pornography, etcetera.

Motivated by envy but beyond it I think - simple envy is wholesome in comparison - just wanting to steal stuff. Wanting to destroy things because it represents something you can never be is worse. As far as churchy people the Church of Jesus Nice is progressive heresy.
