I think it's sad and unfortunate that Western societies are suiciding over time (via privileging less-functional people, mass immigration, etc.). But if genes (our nature) mostly determine how we behave & what we believe, then mostly we aren't choosing what to ignore either.

I don't think the genes are that specific; we're selected to accept dogma in exchange for cooperation superpowers but the specific dogma isn't coded. We should pick a less insane one to be the center of our religion; Charles Martel's Christianity worked well for a very long time

I think Western genes tend towards kindness, compared to other peoples. Though East Asians are cleverer on average, they don't help each other out and tolerate individuality so much, imo. But that great characteristic is a liability when extended to those who cannot reciprocate.

Replying to @raruma @CovfefeAnon and
I also think that Western societies are inevitably trending mostly post-religious - church-going (& synagogue-attendance) is low/declining most everywhere in the West, including the US since ~2000. I reckon better to look forward to perhaps commercial genomics than backward?

If you think Western society is trending towards post-religious you don't know what a religion is - we are dominated by religious fanatics of an insane religion - progressivism

To be clear, Liberals/Leftists often say that "compassion" is most important (kindness). It's the quintessential Christian idea - the main symbol is Christ suffering on a cross. In practice, it means helping those less fortunate than yourself - disastrous when not reciprocated.

That isn't Christian sentiment - that's prog sentiment wearing Christianity as a skin-suit.

Like most things, it's our nature causing it, mostly. Progressivism is full of obvious lies and self-contradictions - but I find it hard to condemn people for acting and creating an ideology according to their nature. I guess we got worse the last century or two.

Covfefe Anon added,
Candide III @CandideIIIReplying to @kamaelSH @OutsidenessTrading corporations cared nothing for bringing natives into the fold, it was missionaries and assorted Jesuits who engaged in that. But take the actual text in this meme. You don't notice it's the same thing? Bring the one true religion to the benighted natives.2 replies 0 retweets 1 like
They found that the religion that works better for internal power struggles is the one on the right; the one on the left is too constrained by reality so they discarded the one on the left - quietly at first, openly eventually. This trickled down without being openly expressed

The meme is a joke..... pffft. Nevermind.
