DNC has no control over these riots. These riots would only harm DNC in elections. Blacks are like 12% in USA & their vote is under triple lock. A rational party would not flame moderates, & burn its cities. This is a behavior of cornered party afraid of acting against its base

Black vote would be out because "Orange man bad". This time Bernie has been BTFOed in initial stages so no Bernie Bros. Scaring fence sitters is not rational,if you have control. This seem more a case of choosing inaction as trying to control riots would make you look anti-Black

Blacks are inflamed every election year, but optimum level of inflammation for DNC is them picketing, doing propaganda on TV, and mild lootings. Not burning cities. That is what RNC would want. Blacks were not voting for them, but let them scare fence-sitter white & L&O votes.

Different calculus when Trump is already president. When he's the candidate it's one thing; when he's in office what's the point of re-electing him if he doesn't actually stop this stuff?

Doesn't this reflect more on local politicians & governors than Trump (so long as he minds what he'll say)

Yeah, but those are a constant; with President Trump you're not supposed to have to worry about this. Put it this way - what's his value proposition?

Keeping Democrats out of presidency and giving autonomy to RNC governers to deal with mobs/riots. Why should Trump worry about states which he could not win come what may? Let DNC governers make a choice between letting their capitals burn & disciplining blacks.

My specific question is what are the exact steps he could've taken. His value proposition would be judges, Obama policies and no new wars?

I'm NRx so I see him passing up an opportunity to grasp the nettle. He'll have to do it eventually I think.
