I get a kick out of the current crop of ‘yes Lockdown has been longer than it was sold, but we’ve Learned A Lot About This Virus’ people. C’mon no you haven’t. Time has passed, you used to think you couldn’t touch your Amazon box, now you don’t, but you didn’t ‘learn’ either one

Some people had to learn that the US doesn't have the state capacity to find and quarantine sick people (others knew that already). Slowing the spread by a general lockdown followed by finding and quarantining the sick would have worked.

The future America from the one that landed on the Moon could easily have done so if it chose a different future. Don't worry though; Bryan Caplan thinks that we've raised world GDP with our choices.
