Where does your prior come from? Why is queerness revolting to you?

Disgust is heavily influenced by culture/environment (see e.g. different cuisines) and exposure, so if your main argument is "it's disgusting", well people are working on changing that.

I'll offer a naive biological explanation instead. Sexual (bad potential mate) and pathogen disgust has been found quite genetically heritable. Transgender people who pass poorly and live recklessly (which power now encourages & celebrates) read as extra bad potential mates/sick.

A corollary is that the difference in the attitude towards LGBT between wrongthinkers like SA, NL, MM, ZHP, BAP and Jim (for an approximate spectrum) could be down to HBD.

Scott Alexander (who I insist is a wrongthinker despite superficial appearances to the contrary) and Nick Land. Will delete this tweet.

Scott Alexander is opposite of a wrong thinker. He's the ultimate right thinker - he sees the flaws in right think yet never draws conclusions or changes his premises and dedicates a massive amount of effort coming up with copes for why progs make the same mistakes over and over

SA's "Addendum" shows he draws conclusions (unless it's some kind of entryism, which seems unlikely). What he may be is reluctant to update on his cached beliefs - especially in public. I would love to see the posts he decided not to write/publish.https://slatestarcodex.com/2019/06/07/addendum-to-enormous-nutshell-competing-selectors/ …

His addendum still misses the key point because it flatters progressives to miss it. In a democracy there will be a thought-making apparatus; memetic evolution is entirely confined to "what wins status games within that" - turns out destructive insanity wins there. 1/2

He says the right wing argument for a secure, unified sovereign w a formal hierarchy is b/c of many some will chance upon good ideas and thrive and others will copy; no. The argument is that left wing ideas are under selective pressure for insanity -"point deer, make horse" 2/2pic.twitter.com/vVtyTs7rtf

Yvain thinks wrong but will never write or say wrong. Occasionally he posts pleas for proggies to stop seeing some truth or another as heresy, but he will never have the balls to be the first to stop throwing stones.

The heart of wrongthink is realizing that the progressive dream will never change certain truths and fighting those truths causes disaster. SA will never wrongthink because there's literally nothing he can learn that will get him to stop being a progressive liberal.
