People are saying that 90%-95% of SARS-CoV-2 transmission is via the air, and only 5%-10% via touching things. All the advice about washing your hands was wrong; handwashing or lack thereof is almost completely irrelevant, though still good wash on general principles.https://twitter.com/JonHaidt/status/1261622978195992578 …

> 5-10% means fomites are probably real. Truth be told I'm skeptical of even the 5-10%. I think it might actually be 0%, though not certain.

We have reasons to suspect its not actually 0%. This is a pretty good natural experiment. Of course it's possible he got it from airborne droplet transmission also. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYC6oQIAzbI …

yeah I'm like 99% sure that if he did get the disease, it was from the air in that crowded indoor space full of people & not from touching stuff.

If he's the only one who caught it from whoever spread it into that room it's suggestive; not definitive either way though.

Do we even know a single case in the whole world that is absolutely certain to have caught covid-19 from touching something contaminated?

Impossible to say without having more information about individual cases than we have any way of obtaining - barring special circumstances like the NBA player. In theory you could find out the status of everyone in the room (captured on video) and trace where he got the disease.
