No, because "big companies" don't make games - teams of game developers do and principal / agent problems rule. The companies want to make money, the developers want to signal wokeness. The devs win.

Exactly; they didn't back off and start making good Mass Effects again - they doubled down until the "big company" could do nothing but pull the plug. No more good Mass Effects and those same people are still out there waiting to find the next target to poz. Is that winning?

They know that if their games get pozzed they lose money; they just lack the ability to stop it because stopping it requires tools to prevent infiltration of your organization - tools that they lack

It's really not. Group status in powerful groups is number one because that gets converted to money. Losing money on wokeness gets you prog status which gets you new jobs which turn into money.
