We need more attractive people willing to be the face of polyamory, to help with polyamory's PR problem. @sentientist and @primalpoly are two great examples - we need more of them. Can we make a hot poly people dating app?

Polyamory itself is ugly - leads to anxiety & depression - erodes paternity certainty/foundations necessary for family formation - erodes social trust - requires obscene logistical/emotional overhead - leads to the breakdown of civilization I’ve never met a happy poly person

Polyamory doesn't have a PR problem at all - if anything it has better PR than it deserves. That people were surprised by the outcome of the Pink woman's life choices demonstrates this.

Yep. Poly gets -fawning- press coverage, the same as any number of unwise life choices pushed by the media apparatus. Want good results? Don't do something your great grandparents would consider some sort of high wickedness or savagery or the like. They'd puke at poly.

Women love the idea of poly; ugly women get a weak imitation of the experience of being attractive with the attention of multiple men. Attractive women get fully unleashed hypergamy and can advertise availability to desirable men she encounters while still having a chump around

Good thing hearing certain truths immediately disqualifies the speaker to you - that way you never have to contend with them. Much safer that way. Here's a hint though - actual involuntarily celibate men are the only ones who put up with "polyamory"

Its hurtful to hear people speaking poorly of something I hold very dearly, so when I notice that we simply have completely different worldviews it makes it easier to understand where they're coming from and shift how I'm listening. Sorry if I came across as hurtful myself.

Just think of it as me having sex with polyamory and she gives in to passion in a way she never does with you while you're unable to do anything but seethe with jealousy then later it asks you if it bothers you but actually it's just implying you're unevolved for feeling horrible

I'm sorry that's something you fear :/ Emotionally irresponsable people exist everywhere, but tending for your partners' jealousy, working through their feelings, soothing them and making sure they feel safe and worthy are important parts of being in a poly relationship.

The joke is that hypergamy doesn't care - at most one of the men in a "polycule" is "worthy" (the best she can do on the sexiness meter) - more likely none of them are and she wants to keep her options open. No one in poly is "safe".pic.twitter.com/tdq1t9CxmB

Maybe there are some people who are like that, but it hasn't been my experience so far. Those people sound like abusers emotionally manipulating their partners into instability in order to feed their own egos, and there are people like that in all kinds of relationships.

You can be poly and be abusive just like you can be mono and be abusive. Abusive people often excuse their behaviors by pretending its normative and expected, so it makes sense for abusive poly people to use distorted polyamory as an excuse for their abuse.
