A new battle about infohazards is brewing on Less Wrong! Some are arguing that a post criticizing various government agencies' response to covid-19 is an infohazard because it might reduce people's trust in government agencies.https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/h4vWsBBjASgiQ2pn6/credibility-of-the-cdc-on-sars-cov-2 …

At least it points to consistency. "LW would gain credibility by being a clearinghouse for good information" vs "This would reduce trust in USG, which is used for good and noble progressive reasons" The exact same choice being made.

So once again LW advocates for being more wrong because it satisfies their intellectual self-pleasuring. Just make the whole site one big tribute to Plato's noble lie combined with patting themselves on the back for being so brilliant. And some, I assume, are good people.
