Just read start of article now. Oh no, an antifa member was fired! A literal terrorist group. What a free speech outrage! What crap.

It's a dumb thing to care about. This person would be front of the line in demanding your head. You gain nothing by defending him. They just laugh in your face. It's just reality that people get canceled as such. Why interrupt this?

1000 right-wingers get their speech censored and their lives ruined. No one comes to their defense. You're here defending the free speech of your executioners. Does that seem right? How about we successfully defend good free speech first and then maybe talk about theirs?

Good free speech: "this scientific theory is wrong" Bad free speech: "this scientific theory is right and we all swear loyalty to anyone who spends effort to suppress knowledge of it" If you think "free speech" covers both of those then you're helpless against the prog memeplex

Covfefe Anon @CovfefeAnonThis comes down to the real meaning of the NRx statement that progressivism is a religion. It's not a sneer; a way to say "ha ha! look at those idiots with their irrational belief" Religions are *powerful* because they provide a Schelling point for cooperation between strangers https://twitter.com/DavidSharp84/status/1231054950748295173 …Show this thread1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

I'm honestly not too familiar with his writing but I suspected Moldbug had some good stuff on the futility of a principles-first pro-free speech stance.

Read Contemplator's thread; it's short and to the point. The relevant part is that it shows the impossibility of defending an institutional setup through strict rules; all that does is select for opposition that subverts the rules.
