Could it really? Have we identified the gene for ‘separating emotion from fact’?

You need whatever trait of interest to have some additive heritability. You don't need to isolate any "gene for" said trait. How do you think farmers did it?

You do if you want to be able to say it ‘able to tell emotion for fact’ is a heritable trait or not. As far as I know, farmers weren’t looking for any such thing.
