Media don't even have to be persuasive. They just have to silence people. They show what those in power - the media owners - believe, and if you speak up they can make sure you get in trouble. In time a new generation is truly persuaded, as they never hear any counter-arguments.

In other words, thinking "Well they media will never convince ME or my friends at work," this misses the point. They silenced you, didn't they? You talk, yes. With your friends at work. Who gets to arrange meetings and put up posters about it at work?
