I think the evidence for the existence of different cognitive adaptations is weak, and that culture and environment are sufficient explanations for the data.

look, human brains are exactly the same in how they work and how big they are, and to the degree that this isn't true the differences in total mass, number of neurons, and white matter vs grey matter all neatly cancel out.

It's also pretty cool how the different human species have had introgressions from different archaic hominids and yet somehow these all averaged out to leave groups different enough to be easily differentiated by visual inspection yet mentally identical
