I think a broad Tuckerite populism is totally possible. A heartland “progressive Nationalism”. The problem is that the online Right is too spergy & combative to build coalitions, constantly throwing the opposition into briar patches
Real power doesn't change hands in elections - the permanent government doesn't get replaced.
