I like to think that people are more skeptical because of the internet (greater and faster access to information) and such, but it could just be that they're getting real slack when it comes to coverups nowadays.

There will always be some percentage (apparently in this case 29%) of people that will never doubt the mainstream media, even if basic logic and understanding proves them wrong. Some people just want things to be simple, no matter what it costs.

If you're not equipped to figure out exactly what you can trust it's probably safer just to go with the official story. Epstein didn't commit suicide but the Earth isn't flat. The latter is provable by looking at shadows and knowing some geometry but that's beyond some.
