Same mechanism that enforces property rights - it's costly to restrict them in two ways - first because capable men could resist (this force is weak on islands b/c of the difficulty of escape) and second because your territory is lower value if it repels capable men Not perfect

Every "right" is a question of "how costly can you make it for the sovereign to violate it?" - no way out of that no matter what the structure of your gvt The problem with our current government is that they'll gladly pay costs to hurt their most valuable people for spite

Democratic government is an owner that burns down a factory that makes millions in profit because he's the personal beneficiary on a ten thousand dollar insurance policy Even when it's motivated by "money" it acts in a wealth destroying way

Agree - corporate rule is probably impossible because once a corporation actually owns a place it has to act like a ruler rather than a merchant Rule is always by warriors or priests, never merchants. Warriors and priests are the only groups with the asibayya needed to rule.

No way - if merchants ruled why would Gillette burn $8 billion on wokeness? Why would Disney buy Star Wars for $4 billion and make it worthless through wokeness in a few years? If merchants rule why can't the richest man in the country do better sexually than this:pic.twitter.com/aOYjzjQW3C
