They don't do it for money - they do it for power Was the guy printing the Daily Worker doing it to pay his bills or doing it because he'd get a massive share of power when his side won / was a true believer?

The industry decline pushes the reporter / paper relationship to defect / defect as it increasingly looks like a finite rather than infinite game In context defecting means reporters would all increasingly rather accrue woke credit than make money for their employers

This isn't totally simple because the reporter gets more woke credit with more clicks but even then it's not exact - better to get *the right* clicks for power than the valuable clicks for selling ads
