Mets fans are so jacked up for this meaningless Derby. Could you imagine how Citi would rock if the owners weren't crooks and put a good team on the field?

If they only cared about money they'd do a better job as owners - use the Yankee model because it's massively profitable. By running the team the way they do they leave massive profits on the table because money *isn't* what's most important to them.

They don't want to risk losing money (which is an absolute for them) but it's more important to them that they run the team than that they make money - otherwise they'd have professionals running it instead of Jeff (and Fred)

Oh, yes, I follow you now. I'd agree with that. I think they have to make money first, but between making a lot of money or an obscene amount they like to be in charge.

2015 was such a turning point too - NY isn't automatically a Yankee town - profit motivated owners go all out to win after that WS run. Investing at that critical time could've paid massive dividends They didn't because their motives are 1) don't lose money and 2) stay in charge
