Let's look at this in a context we all understand - the race hustle. Some black "community leader" gets his mob out and protests in front of a business somewhere. Then he goes directly to the business and says "if you want the protesting to stop, pay up". 1/https://twitter.com/Steve_Sailer/status/1133491500350824448 …

Occupy Wall Street was notoriously crippled at getting anything done even in its talk-talk-talk by purity spirals and concerns for privileging the "progressive stack." Perhaps Davos Man realized that was today's left's fatal weakness and took to promoting it? https://twitter.com/AnonymousUsrnm/status/1133487414293479424 …

Being this direct only works for blacks. The standards are lower - they can give a few dollars to some marginal guys to "protest". The leader can directly cash in without getting charged with extortion. More advanced progs have to be more sophisticated 2/

First problem - can't directly pay the protesters - have to motivate them with ideology (a con). Problem is when you motivate people through ideology they want to follow that ideology but what is a protest actually going to do? Storm a bank and seize vault? Of course not. 3/

So you attack the problem ideologically - make sure the protesters make committees and sign off unanamiously on everything - live up to the ridiculous ideology. From Scott Alexander's review of some communist manifesto: 4/pic.twitter.com/b81NodoZyF

Practically speaking this means the protesters are neutered from any action (what action would they take anyway?) What this leaves is the meat of it - some infiltrator on the inside somewhere now has "public pressure" to point to so he can get his share of money / power 5/

Hands off version of the simpler race hustle is complete. The inside man doesn't directly know the protesters - he likely knows a few organizers and later rewards them when the bank makes contributions to some "community group" and the good organizers get to move inside 6/

    7. Covfefe Anon‏ @CovfefeAnon 28 May 2019

It works because the progressive movement operates basically like a secret club with rules - "always support a club member", "club membership is open but you are only a member if others agree you're a member", "others will agree you're a member if you advance the club" 7/

Why is woke capital woke? Because club members come in and use the position to advance their club standings rather than making money for the company that hired them. Making money for the company maybe gets you a raise, raising your status in the club gets you more. 8/

Ultimately this works because our economy is increasingly zombified - pleasing the club that is academia, the bureaucracy and the media is more important because they have secure funds which go to friends and just as important they have *status* 9/

Money is nice but status is everything. Why is it such an insult to say "learn to code" to a journalist? Because you're proposing that they go from high status - policing the club - to low status - working for a living. 10/
