I actually liked the ending. Dany was eaten by her inner demons and paid the price. Jon the hero saved the world, but murdered his aunt, queen, and lover and was exiled. The North is free but a shell of itself (how many houses did they lose?)

All-in-all, the ending fits the world GRRM creates. Moderately nihilistic. Generally unjust. Not happy. But it didn't go overboard (everyone dies, Cersei wins, Night King wins) which would have all been cheap nihilism. A good ending. Better than I expected after Ep. 4.

The end state seemed reasonable but almost nothing about the actions of the characters in the episode made sense I also think that eventually Drogon would find Jon and a lot of things would be undone
