Many people on Twitter appear to think that media is a big influence on people's behaviour. Journalists probably like to think this because it's flattering to the ego. But few people under age 60 watch cable TV & even fewer read the newspaper. Peer-groups are far more influential

In an Australian context, I would argue that social media is vastly more influential on young angry men than commercial media -- and the reason social media is more influential is in its community building capability.
