Funny you should say that, because often times depression is an actual medical problem with gentic roots, and medication can sometimes be the only thing that can help. While I agree that meds are overprescribed, you shouldn't totally treat depression as the patient's fault.

I believe it is. Doesn't mean doctors or patients are aware of that so it's not necessarily their "fault".

So do you not believe that it is possible for someone to be depressed despite living a healthy lifestyle? Depression can be solely biological.

Yes but you're not asking the right question What you should be asking is "are there depressed people out there who wouldn't be if they lived a healthy lifestyle?" The answer to that is also yes and has the potential to greatly improve lives
