The High Surf Warning was set to expire at 9 AM. Instead, it has been converted to a High Surf Advisory that is valid through 9 PM tonight. What does this mean? Despite wave heights decreasing, dangerous waves are still breaking along the coast. #CAwx #neverTurnYourBack2Ocean
The High Surf Warning was converted to a High Surf Advisory. This is a result of the fact that wave heights have technically declined, but are still at dangerous levels. This is keeping dangerous swimming and surfing conditions past the original forecast time period. Enhanced wave run-up and localized beach erosion is expected. This advisory is valid through Friday at 9 PM PST. Stay off coastal rocks & jetties, avoid steep beaches, keep a safe distance from the surf zone, keep children & pets out of the surf zone, and never turn your back to the ocean.
