Man, speak for yourself. I'm finding more and more of my friendships have been toxic now that I've hit 30. Though, I think part of that might be the pandemic too.
If 30 is "furry death", I'd like a second helping please. Best part about my 30s is, friendships have largely stabilised and I know who I can trust... and I'm slowly getting better at spotting the ones I shouldn't trust. Growing old isn't all bad news.

I mean, that's exactly it. I've found similar - but I've also found I'm more able to spot the toxicity, and better equipped to distance myself from it.

My experience echoes yours - it's now in my late 30's that I've gotten my first fursuit and started branching out to make a lot of new friendships. It's all those or the crazy long term ones I've had since I was like 15 on dragon IRC networks!

I'm ashamed to say I don't really have any crazy long-term friendships ^^;; The longest I can think of is probably my partner, but I don't really count them.

I'm still bewildered as to why furries are making such a fuss over age. I know the fandom is known for it's drama but this is ridiculous. This is one of the most absurd things I've ever seen. Why is age such a deal? Why is this even a thing?

I wish I knew! It keeps coming up every so often... lack of awareness or respect for the people who built the community I guess?
