Female scis being discussed only in terms of their gender is problematic. Curie's contribution was radioactivity, not "being a female sci."

Yes, prominent female scientists can be role models, but that only works if role model status is secondary to their status as scientists.
@AstroKatie Unfortunately that probably won't happen until the chicken-and-egg problem of gender issues in the science community is gone.
