With 17 launches since the start of the year, SpaceX has flown a Falcon 9 rocket every nine days in 2021. That puts them on track for 40 orbital launches this year. This would shatter their previous record of 26, set last year.
Next target: beat the 63 flights yearly record of a orbital launch vehicle family currently held by Soyuz/R-7 in 1980!

Well, one could argue they already beat them on the most important metric, tons to orbit per year. The Soyuz required so many flights because it had a much smaller lift capacity. Either way, the Falcon 9 is a workhorse.

Won't happen with the Falcon 9. I expect F9 flight rate to peak this year, with Starship taking on Starlink launches in 2022. (That assumes a successful "orbital" flight test, then carrying Starlink satellites on future Starship development flights.)
