So regarding current status of Mars surface S/C telecom relaying, I checked out @mrn_status and noticed that ESA's Mars Express has stopped relaying for NASA S/C on surface, leaving 2001 Mars Odyssey/MRO/@MAVEN2Mars/@ESA_TGO to the job.
Is this permanent & when did this happen?

So it's now in back-up role, no wonder it can be spared to help with relaying for the Chinese.
