Another of their tracking ships Yuan Wang 6 is currently found stopped in the Java Sea btw Java & W Australia, lining up w/ very faint rumor of an imminent (this week?) launch (again) from Jiuquan. Curiously position implies ~75 deg. inc. only used by the SJ-16 series before.

Too early for that (27th reported) and the ship's position doesn't fit with the planned orbit for the reported LM-6 launch this month (SSO).

Are these tracking ships necessary because China lacks a network of ground stations? Or because they fly over the Pacific where there are not a lot of places to put antennas on land?
