So I don't think everyone needs to build their own mini-Starship. Rocket Lab found a good path with Photon, ULA can explore Vulcan-ACES and SMART reuse, and those will secure the upper-class of space payloads. And keep an eye on Northrop w/ their MEV - that might just change all.
Yeah I just think SpaceX fans really have exaggerated the death of space launch vehicles as we know it. This is just a brainstorm exercise by me on "is there an easier method in making a smaller SS just by using what those others players have in hand right now?".

I get that. I really do think however that the "small Starship" would vary heavily between vehicles and providers. Flyback boosters - like the XS-1 were supposed to have a turnaround rate of 10 flights, 10 days, which would be insane for its class.
On the other hand, you've got upper stage capability - something largely slept on that Rocket Lab is mastering with its kick stages and Photon along with ULA's long-standing capability with Centaur and DCSS. Orbit injection accuracy can save years on a satellite's lifetime.
