Hmm the Chinese wording used in the statement actually means "landed" and distinctive from the one for "impacted"! I doubt that this really happened, but maybe it could have touched down relatively slowly as a surprise exercise?

Seems “受控撞月impacted under control” and “落月landed” were both used in the statement?
