Well Galactic Energy had a press release today...that they have just closed out Series A round funding of CNY ¥200 million and that their Ceres-1 is flying "soon". ...uh nothing to see, carry on... http://www.galactic-energy.cn/index.php/Show/cid/11/aid/92 …

This launch is apparently now on Nov. 7. Payload is the Tianqi-11 LEO comsat to a 500 km SSO - several in the series already launched since 2018. https://space.skyrocket.de/doc_sdat/tianqi-1.htm … And they apparently follows a certain NZ-USA LSP's footsteps in naming this launch "I believe I can fly".

...and here comes the proof that Galactic Energy is following
@RocketLab's idea of naming launches, with this one being "I Believe I Can Fly".
The rocket's parameters in the photo are the same as those on their official website, in English: http://www.galactic-energy.cn/index.php/En/List/cid/14 …pic.twitter.com/iBNkjUNMOt

The Ceres-1 first flight has been confirmed for tomorrow at ~07:10 UTC per air-space closure notices.

Launch should be happening around now. Sadly unlike even Alaska (
@johnkrausphotos ahem) I don't think anyone filming in the Gobi Desert are able to post them online right now.2 Antworten 0 Retweets 5 Gefällt mirDiesen Thread anzeigen -

Someone might be able to pinpoint the launch pad from this photo (presumably the same one as for most new solid rocket launchers out of there)pic.twitter.com/cCp1DZnLYC

There are reports that the payload has nominally separated. Waiting for confirmation....

Thanks to the situation from the very first post of this long thread, the Chinese now has 2 of the 3 small sat LSP private start-ups that made it to orbit from the 2010s and beyond: *

Unlike most Chinese SRM launchers so far (but like iSpace's Hyperbola-1) the Ceres-1 is launched from a simple "stool" not unlike how the @northropgrumman Minotaur-C is launched.pic.twitter.com/5ZIzRKibEE
