I need some help as to find a way to explain the current deployment of 2 Chinese tracking ships far from their usual positions. The Yuan Wang 6, after crossing the S Atlantic, started circling off the SE corner of Uruguay, at the same position as another ship early this year.

Meanwhile the Yuan Wang 3 crossed through the Indian Ocean and is currently pushing north through the middle of Arabic Sea. Neither are usual positions for launch tracking.

So for Chinese missions, what kind of S/C orbit would require tracking from these places? What orbit inclination would it be if something is launched retrograde (see NROL-41 series) & passes over these 2 ships from Jiuquan or Taiyuan?

Alternatively, what kind of orbit inclination would a notional spacecraft in LEO look like if it re-enters over these 2 ships and land at Jiuquan or near the usual Shenzhou landing zones?

If someone can help with ideas, please do as such a secret mission might be launching very soon, maybe even within a week, if these 2 ships seems to stop by now. Thanks!

A retrograde launch to ~123 degrees out of Jiuquan would pass over Yuan Wang 3 shortly after launch. It might overfly YW6, but it would depend on how far out from Uruguay it is.

I'll also say that they're lined up pretty well for a deorbit burn and landing. I remember a few months back you were looking at a very short spaceplane flight.

Yeah, something like a few orbits or even marginal orbital like IXV. This was again originating from Chinese forum guesses.
