The Fregat-SB used a torus shaped external/jettisonable fuel tank to increase its capability. It was used 4 times with the Zenit rocket from Baikonur as the Zenit-3F variant, and is also featured in the main propulsion module of the ill-fated Fobos-Grunt mission S/C.
